Lumpini Park or Suan Lum is the name of Park but when called

Suan Lum Night Bazaar is mean shopping place near Lumpini Park, open in the night. Lumpini Park is a popular Park located at the heart of Bangkok Capital City of Thailand. Lumpini Park is the first public park of Bangkok, was built in 1925 by King Rama VI. Lumpini means the birth place of Lord Buddha at Lumphini District, Nepal. Today, in front of the park has the monument of King Rama VI, was built in 1942. The green expanse provides a relaxing and relatively peaceful retreat from the bustle and hustle of the rest of the city. The area consists of several kinds of natural scene such as colorful and decorative plants, the lush forest park, the elegant palm garden and the softly blown bamboo garden. You can spend time to relax with your family at Lumpini Park in the weekend because there are many activities.Activities at Lumpini Park:
- Bird Watching, you can found over 30 species of birds in here.- Smiling Sun Ground. It’s area have facility of kids and disabled which slope path for wheelchairs, a special playground, parking lots and necessary park facilities.
- Bangkok Senior Citizens Club. The club is located at Lumphini Hall, which activities exercising and vocational training. Open daily from 08.00 - 18.00. Inside the building, there are dance stages that open in the weekends.
- Home of Hope. It is the center for homeless children where they can have useful advice, consultation, knowledge or even help. It is opened daily from 10.00 - 19.00.
- Lumphini Public Library. This is a source of knowledge, which collects various books and video tapes. It is open from Tuesday – Sunday at 08.00 - 20.00.
- Lumphini Youth Center. It offers sports activities including sports training for children such as football, swimming, basketball, ballroom dancing course. It is opened daily: from Monday - Friday 18.00 - 20.00, and Saturday - Sunday 10.00 - 18.00.
- Pedal boat and Rowboat. It is the optional service, offering a rental service at the rate of 30 Baht per 30 minutes.
- Dharma in the Park. Buddhist activities are regularly organized for the benefit of the society. Food offerings to the monks and preaching on the sermon are held every last Sunday of the month from 07.00 -09.00.
- Music in the Park. Thai and western music performance is staged at the Palm Garden during February - April every Sunday from 16.30 -20.00.
