The Rough Guide to Switzerland couldn't rave enough about Fribourg, a French-speaking city about 15 miles from Bern. The book said Fribourg is "one of Switzerland's best-kept secrets" with a "winningly attractive medieval Old Town" and steep cobbled streets that are "picturesque and characterful."
